 Toyota's comment on the VE is priceless:

"Dave Buttner, Toyota Australia

Toyota Australia sales and marketing director Dave Buttner was asked but declined to comment on the new VE Commodore: "I was at the Carlton v Western Bulldogs AFL game signing a two year sponsorship contract on the bonnet of an all-new Aurion. So I haven't seen the new Commodore and am unable to comment about it." "

I agree with you on the Omega interior, yet compare this with the previous Commodore's interior and this is a huuuuge upgrade :) with a much clearer dash, digital display at top and a sensible layout of the radio/air-con dials and knobs.
The Berlina looks nice also, the timber does look kinda off, but the lighting in the Berlina looks pretty flash.

Theres only so much you can do to an interior before the price of making it sky rockets.

As long as you can option up the interior with a bit of leather and alloy it should be a very functional and unobtrusive interior. Looks like they have made it even harder to install aftermarket headunits this time.

Yeh thats why you pay more money for the calais and SS. You cant excpect alot of options in a base model interior. What are the later model head units like? Ive only owned old models.

VY/VZ headunits aren't that hard to upgrade with the range of adaptors and filler fascias around. If they plan on exporting the VE to plenty of countries then the aftermarket manufacturers will no doubt come up with some stuff to mod them with in time.
