I'll be starting the VE (V6) for the first time in a few months.
Any tips on going gentle with the motor?
Was going to remove the fuel pump fuse, turn it over a bit to build oil pressure and maybe it gets pumped through a bit?

Just fire it up you'll do worse cranking it over trying to get oil pressure

Hope you have been charging your battery monthly.
If you have, then just start it, let it run while you count to ten, then drive it gently until the temp. is up then go for it.

Thanks. I will have to bleed the coolant so that’s a good chance to ease into things.
The battery still holding 12.5v

I’ll also leave things as they are and kick it over with fuel too.

Thought I might add to this.

I did get the car running.
Didn't remove any fuses. Left it as is.
Cranked the car with a flogged out flat battery.
Replaced the battery, Then it took a fair bit to get her going again. Enough to have the thoughts of, "What is not going right here?". Then gradually it sounded better and better.
Plenty of chance for oil pressure to build.
Slowly chugged into life, and then ran better than when we bought it when it was 3 years old. You could sit a glass of water on the intake manifold and it would hardly move.

I put it down to old fuel. It had been in the tank for 4 or 5 months. I added some Liquimoly octane booster and injector cleaner which comes in a big tin and is diluted down.
Car has been running for a couple of weeks now and is still so great to drive. Better than new.
