Hi guys! i'm new to the page so just wondering if someone can help me out. I've got a 97 VS clubsport and its sitting on SSL in the front and SSSL in the rear and i'm wanting to find out if i put on 19 inch FR1 simmons on all around, will it rub or damage the wheel well or fenders ?

going to put on 19 x 8.5 in the front and 19 x 9.5 in the rear with 235/40/19 tyres will this work ?

cheers

saaj

Those tyres won't fit on the front as the profile is to high. Probably need to go down to a 30 profile but you would need to check. With a 235/40/18 there is about 6mm clearance between the tyre and front strut spring pad.

There are online calculators you can use to workout the different rolling diameters.

Also, a 9.5" wide rim will need to have the correct offset or it will foul on either the suspension or the guards.

It can work with the right rim offsets and tyre profiles but it needs careful measurements.

I have 17s by 7 (or 17x8, I can't remember) with 245's all around and no clearance issues.
Maybe order narrower rims in 19" and stick those width tyres on. With aspect ratio correct you should be fine (with offsets correct)

hi all, Had a long talk with one of the guys on the phone at heads racing today and have decided to with the staggered look
19 x 8.5 in the front with +43 offset and 19 x 9.5 in the rear with + 30 offset
front tyre size is about 225/30/19 and rear is 245/35/19

Hey mate, it sits real nice on the Simmons, have had them on for a few months now and the ride quality isn’t that bad at all. I’ve got ssl in the front and sssl’s in the rear with 19’s all round no scrubbing.

Nice! What size tyres did you settle on for the front?

Great if you want to feel every bump in the road directly through your spine and be unable to drive over speed humps or into driveways.

Wasn't really the question I asked though was it?
