Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has done this? Is there somewhere convenient to fit the sender? Like a T piece or is there a sandwich plate available to take a sender between the block and filter or something?

This is for a VT series 1 V6 btw.

Thanks all.

I am looking at doing the same thing, only I want to monitor oil temp aswell I belive for oil presure its as simple as putting in a T piece and connecting your new sensor. I am not sure if this is the ideal place to take a tempreature reading.

Check out Speco com au they sell T pieces and a oil pressure/oil temp plates for between the oil filter and the block.

Part numbers below (thou I myself am still trying to work out which one).

~$12

Okay, Just come back from Repco, they have a T piece (Part. #230032 $12) that is 1/4" from the block, 1/4" for your current oil pressure switch and to 1/8". The 1/8 is most likely where you will take your electronic reading depending on how long your sensor is. My temp sensor was 2 cm long, and was way to long maybe 1CM to long) to fit in the 1/4 area. So I am now looking at using the Speco 547-51 oil filter/temp adapter ($40). Going down to Bursons tomorrow to see it this will fit my 2cm electronic temp sender.

Well installing wasn't fun at all! In the end I had to end up using a G-Clamp to hold the adapter onto the engine block so that the thread of the hollow bolt could actually grip onto the engine block. Not fun at all, so I made sure that I tightened this nut @#$@ing hard as I did not want to journey down this path again.

You will notice in the photos some oil on the floor and near the allen key bolts on the adapter this is because they were not tight enough, so before you install yours make sure that you tighten these as much as you can, as this is a b@#$ of an area to get to with tools after you have mounted the adapter. If mine keeps leaking i might even have to some some high temp tape to use on the allen key bolt threads just to create an air tight seal, but I think this is solved now.
