Hi everyone,

Just wondering how to fit up the front bumper correctly so I don't have those big ugly gaps between the headlight/indicator area and the bumper? Only thing I've tried is loosening the reo bar and pushing up hard against where the gap was then tightening, worked a little but not perfect.

Also how is the bumper meant to be held on where it meets the wheel arch?

Cheers Justin.

There's a sliding part on the corner of the bumper (both sides) this slides onto a corresponding bracket on the car below the indicators.

From memory I think the car side of these brackets are adjustable.

If it's had a tap at some point those plastic brackets can be broken so worth looking for that. The brackets clip over little studs on the body. Often they'll get broken off too. You used to be able to buy rivets through Holden Spare Parts to replace them.

Yeah mine are all Good

I've seen some mounted plastic to plastic, mine is mounted plastic to metal. Metal being the car side. Both are intact and fitted correctly. Is there anything that holds the very corner of the bumper on?(where it meets the wheel arch) sort of like the rear bumper setup?

You're on the right track, loosen the 4 bolts holding the bumper to the chassis rail and push it into place, hold it and tighten them up.
The plastic bits that hold the sides to the guard area are not adjustable, the bracket that's attached to the car clips onto rivets and the bumper slides onto these, alot of the time these aren't slotted in correctly and they can be a pita if the car has been in a bingle and it's out of shape.

there is nothing behind the bumper in the wheel archers to retain it, only thing there is a splash shield that sits in the bumper.

the vp changes from the vn rivits with plastic sliders to full metal ones (the ones attached to the car not the bar). if the car has had a slight front tap at some point those metal brackets may be bent, hence why your bar is out of wack. the plastic vn version is more friendly because the plastic sliders will break off and not bend the bracket in case of any light taps.

from your pics it looks like you bar inst on the slider %100 right. that last pic looks like your bar hasent slid far back enough, theres a big gap. spray the sliders and bracket with some crc before the install make it a little easier...

I've fitted new guards and new bumper mounts so if anything it's the actual car frame(that sucks) A9762663-C1B4-41C6-89D3-6373FE7217A2-126-000000025AA393EF.jpg
What is this hole for? To me it seems like it should have a screw into the inner guard or something. Any ideas?

While we're on the topic of bumpers, I'm chasing up parts to fit my rear bumper up properly too, what's meant to be used in this hole? Got told the rivets by Holden, which they have none of them left. But rare spares has the bolts listed as the same part, this setup is similar to bodgy crap that I found holding my bumper on.

if thats under the rear bar on the quarter panel its not ment to be a hole. theres ment to be a stud (welded on one) that the metal clip pop riveted to the inner corner of your rear bar slides into.

Holden told me its a pop rivet? I've seen on other vp's welded studs but this will do for me.
