I am fitting a MACE 12mm Manifold Insulator to my VX series2 V6.

I have got down to the point of pulling up the plenum. What I find there between plenum and runners is a factory metal shim /spacer/ gasket ?

This does not appear in the MACE instructions at all.

Do I remove this or what ?

Sent a mail direct to Mace this morning but haven't heard back yet. At this rate it won't be going back together today.

Please discard/remove that steel that gasket.

My sincerest apologies for this delay. Hopefully you're able to finish the job off today and enjoy the upgrade.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask

Kindest Regards,
Steve

Thanks Steve. That's what I thought but wanted to make sure.

Won't be able to finish today due to poor health. (Hope a rat doesn't jump down a runner overnight )

Sure I will appreciate the upgrade next time I'm out. The others (CAI & PCM) have worked step by step.

Just a tip , don't know whether you'll see this , but cover the runners until you finish the job , in case something does drop down there .

Thanks, I did just go and do that. Put some clean cloth doubled over and lowered the plenum onto it.

that'll do it , I think you'll like the insulators , I installed them on my VX and have the 25mm ones on my VZ as well .
