On the instructions that come with the tri-y`s , it says to trim the steering bolt on the sterring shaft back so its level with the nut so there is clearance, anyone had to do this?
hmmm, that sounds a bit dodge doesnt it? never fitted them before myself, have a crack and see how the clearance is first hand before "trimming" any bolts, i would of thought pacemaker of all brands would of had enough clearance
done this to my clubby take out the bolt in the joint (unijoint???) on the steering shaft, in fact Ive got a pic somewhere of mine when I did it. then you can move the shaft out of the way, also remove the heat shield looking thing in the same area to get your pipes through. I`ll find the pic.
I have had to do it a couple of times, not all of them touch but they get pretty close. Trimming the bolt is perfectly safe as you still have the complete thickness of the nut for the thread to hold on to.
All done and fitted easy sause. didnt have to trim any bolts thank god cause im hopeless at that lol. but holy phuck the car sounds like a beast with the hi-flow cats and pacemakers
