Treat an airbag with respect...
Best practice is to disconnect the car battery and wait some time before working around airbags or looms carrying airbag wires. This is because people have died by airbags inadvertently going of when they are near them and fiddling.
Then there is the issue of understanding how dash airbag coverings are manufactured and held in place and how the airbags tear away those coverings (but normally keep them captive in some way) when the airbag deploys.
There is a lot of subtlety in design of such parts and you don’t want to compromise the design by gluing something that shouldn’t be glued or using too strong a glue. It’s like the special tear away thread and stitching on seat side airbags which you need to duplicate when having the seats recovered. Its not just rip of the old and chuck on a new... Because doing the wrong sort of dash/airbag repair could maim or kill your passenger should the airbag deploy in a crash
You wouldn’t pull a pin from a grenade just cause you read something on a forum or watched a YouTube video, you’d treat the grenade with respect.Should be the same sort of respect for an airbag.
So best to talk to a business that’s expert in airbag installations and repairs...
