Recent trip away, just south of Katherine NT, I noticed the arrowed flashing GPS icon.

Intermittent flashes - 2 flashes - disappear - 3 flashes - disappear - 2 flashes - disappear (you get the idea).

Went on for perhaps 5 minutes then no icon, as usual.

(Owners manual not handy) - Have never seen it before but I figure the extension lead to the satellite(s) was unplugged but would like to have that confirmed if anyone actually knows?

I am pretty sure that indicates that it is searching for satellites and if it has a red X in it then it means it cant find any.

Yeah, I figured that was it but we've travelled some remote areas and haven't noticed it before

Also, the week before this trip away the dealer reset/flashed/whatevered the BCM due to ongoing issues with seat heaters intermittently coming on.

A "known issue" so the reset was 'sposed to fix it.

It didn't but as a bonus we now have the aircon doing strange things. Hot front/cold back... cold up to 25deg then bloody hot... etc.

Oh well, service due next month so they can have another go at it.

Hopefully losing satellites isn't part of that deal.

The bcm update would not have effected the mylink.
When you take it in ask them to check for a "firmware" update for the mylink not a "map" update unless you also want to get updated maps which will cost you extra.
The "firmware" update should not cost you extra

Thanks mate.

I think it has the latest firmware but I'll run it past them anyway.
