flashing lock symbol on vy dash how to fix

my sons vy commodore has a flashing red light on the dash it looks like a lock symbol how do i fix please

Pretty sure thats the immobiliser light, the earlier models have it seperate to the instruments and it blinks every few seconds when the immobiliser is active.

Normal when key is out of ignition barrel.

it flashes until you turn the car on flashes even if the car is not locked was told it nothing to worry about just indicating the car alarm is on

yep , indicates that alarm is activated , turns off when the car is started , or key turned to accessory .

It’s the cars security system indicator light.

It will flash with the key in the ignition. It will flash without the key in the ignition.

It stops flashing when the key is turned to ignition and the car is started.

Aftermarket keys from Supercrap or some eBay ones will not function correctly (long term) and can create glitches.
