Alright, i'll start you off with some info being as nobody else has replied. Most LED's aren't made to take 12 volts so you'll need a resistor in line with your LED's to cut down the voltage before it reaches them. On the other hand, you can purchase LED's that are in a row (some of which are made already for 12 volt applications). Before i say anymore, quick question, do you specifically want to use LEDs or are you prepared to use neons?

It doesnt worry me whether it's led's,neons globes..
Tell you the truth when I came up with idea leds where the first thing to come to mind I dint think of the other options..
But thinking about it now I think neons or globes would be easier, it's that the case I will go that way....

I used these leds because I had some left over from the blue dash conversion. They are small, low current and were conveniently fitted to small circuit boards including the resistor for 12 volt use - just break off as many as you want....... I used one bank of 3 leds per footwell. The rears are mounted under the back edge of the front seats.
I wired them into the ignition illumination light on my VY - not sure if the VS has this light ?

Maybe someone can post pictures of neon illumination...............

Photo of mine, think LED's are better than neons.
They use less current and last longer.

www.lazer.com.au
