Ive always hated falcons with a passion, until my mate bought an ED wagon, its been abused, thrashed crashed u name it and never missus a beat or breaks down. I have a lot of respect for that car and its ability to put up with all the s**t he gives it and still run fine at the end of the day. My Commy would be in a very sad state if i treated it like that falcon.

The Falcon 6 is a very good engine. Give a good service and it will be reliable, and probably handle high revs better then a commodore V6.

Yeah ive heard good things about the inline 6's they also seem to be a better engine for power and what not..

Well if you got it for free from your uncle i wouldnt complain, my opinion, buy a set of wheels, get a $2 supercrap can of blue paint and try match the rest of the car as best you can. Service it properly, all oils, filters, coolant etc. And just use it as a daily and dont spend to much money on it..
I dont know why everyones giving it to you if you got it for free, i wouldnt be complaining at all if i got it for free..

i got no probles with him getting it for free, AND i got no probelms with him not wanting to spend money on it. what i do have problem with is his first thoughts are "what would it look like with 17's" rather than "how am i going to get this baby running right"

and then to top it all off, complaining that it isnt reliable. as if somehow, trial fitting his mums wheels would make it run right..

GIVE IT A MAJOR SERVICE :D!!!!

.. I was clueless on what was wrong with it at the time, I test fitted the tyre before I had actually driven it properly to know of the problems..

I said it was unreliable at the time because I had to jumpstart, drive it down to the petrol station pretty much hoping it wouldnt die on me when I got it there I had to jumpstart it again.. Does that seem really 'reliable' ?

Since Ive got a few things fixed I can say its a fairly reliable car, Could be better.. nothing a major service MIGHT fix...

on a side note.. I actually paid for it, never mentioned it in the thread but yeah I paid for it. $500 or so

and hooked up a ignition switch out of switches:

Mate.. Lol yeah Haters will hate.. im not a fan of the falcons but my mum and brother have always owned falcons my mums old EF wagon hit 380xxx without anything major going wrong.. and trust me it was thrashed. got rid of it in the end because she bought a BA but it was a fine car when it went never had issues (all i can say is id buy one over anything around that year with the commodores).
