Hi all, I just pulled the vac line off from the fuel pressure reg to the manifold, and it smelt like fuel. It was also wet at the ends and I am sure I saw a drop of fuel come out. (It was bloody tight and didn't come off easily).
Does it sound like the fuel is bypassing the diaphragm inside the Regulator?
Notes:
I was only removing the vac line to try an alternative routing.
Fuel rail and reg may have been sitting for a while between vehicle's. Reg is VN type with screw on outlet (not the later smaller VR+ style with 1piece housing and outlet)

Yeah it’s a tell tale it ain’t happy, mine blew a black cloud on start up when it failed.
I used my spare, new ones ain’t cheap compared to a v6.

I have a later style as a spare. But will not fit earlier rail, and later style has oe crossover that will not work with current manifold

Got a pic of how yours is set up? Is it just one of the inline ones? Are you still running the return or dead head system? Plenty of options in any case - but should be no fuel in that hose at all

Repco reg $258 or something like that.
Original return system still in use.
Using the rear most vac port of the 3 on the drivers side in middle of plenum.

Looking to use my old rail and reg and build suitable crossover to suit that.

Yeah man just have a couple of AN-8 or 10 bosses welded in. Shouldn’t cost more than $50 for somebody to do that for you. Factory rails look real nice when they’re polished imo. Those cooling fins are there for a reason too.

Good point, I might have a spare early V6 one around here if it will fit.

Thanks guys, new reg would definitely be the quickest and easiest solution if you have one.
Here is the early style V8 reg

I'll pull out a V6 one tomorrow and see if it looks similar.
