It doesn't look that bad with the body kit. And yes the spoiler has to stay. :)

The problem here is that nobody in Australia who mass produces springs (or buys them for that matter) bothers to think about or list spring rates. Even if BC are comparatively crap compared to anything 3 or 4 times it's price, you can still buy your own choice of springs and have the dampers valved to match that spring rate, right off the shelf as one package. Doesn't matter if you've got the best Bilsteins, if you've got some random assed King Springs as part of your setup it's a bit pointless. I don't know what spring shock combo you would get for 1k that would really be any better than BCs.

Not to mention the ease of swapping springs, camber tops are typically inclusive, smaller spring seats for bigger wheels, adjustable height, blah blah blah.

I have seen the coilover "trend" in the Falcodore world start to rise though.

I'm not sure if I already said in this thread but my coilovers are Tein which I think are cheapies and while it is a bumpy ride there is no sway whatsoever turning or winding around on roads, it feels good imo

Depends on the valving and spring rates. You're most likely to have 8/6 as that seems to be the most common rate people run.

Best of the worst. Still cheaper to get them shipped in from Japan than any Aussie distributor. Their lower range is completely Taiwanese AFAIK (like BC), with only the very top end stuff being built in Japan.

ive said the a number of times, but ill say it again:

when cars used to arrive with suspension knock we used to refer to it as "the tien knock"

    for example:
i swear you get MAXIMUM 30k kms out of teins before they start knocking on your front door, regardless on the spec.

in comparison we have had 200K km cars roll through with stock nismo shocks/springs that drive like theyre on rails.

What would you know ari it's not like you're in the import business. Coil overs are the be all and end all in suspension on these.

i did lol at that comment IRL.

i wish i hadve kept the pic of the pile of coilovers i threw in the bin. think it was maybe 3 years worth of "there may be a way of fixing these one day" when i finally decided that the bin was the best way forward, pretty sure i sent the pic to hakhawk, anyway, i had just had my skip emptied and it half filled it in 1 day. and i have a BIG skip.

there are probably 100,000 aussie dreamer wannabe drifters that would be after my blood if they saw that many "top spec" coils going to landfill. but i enjoyed watching them go very muchly.

if you can afford the ones with the remote passive rebound, then go for it. otherwise theyre just another end user set of coilovers.

    edit* these bad boys:

not sure if theyre made for 15, now i could be wrong, but i believe that S15 share the same setup as 34 and 33 on the rear, so you can get these no probs, but the fronts im pretty sure are different (i.e. double wishbone for 34, macpherson for 15)

edit edit* it might just be a case of scoring a set of S15 pillowball tops and sticking them on 34 struts...

You're correct about the identical rears and the front tops being different, but the fronts also use a clevis.

If you're referring to the external reservoirs there's a few manufacturers who produce units with them (even BC).

Heard rave reviews about some stuff coming out of Australia now like MCA and Shockworks.

only reason i would even slightly ponder an Ohlins is cos their remote systems are fully rebuildable. "rave reviews" mean nothing to me if they cant be rebuilt. teins would be kick-arse if you could rebuild the stops in them, but then how would they make any money?

IMO the NUMBER ONE thing you look for in coil-overs is the ability to have them rebuilt. the rest is all just BS wank factor.

Wow plenty of info, thanks guys, rebuild-able seems to be the way to go, see how much tax money I can score, pretty sure there is an exhaust leak from near the manifold which is annoying but oh well, will pull the heatsheilds off tomorrow and see if I can see anything.
21st is coming up so hopefully money from that will go towards standard front bar :)

Gave her a quick tub today
