from skidder to streeter - VP BT1

New exhaust and pair of driveshafts on the shopping list. Driveshaft boots have well split
running it straight out the extractors is okay on the pad, less okay on the street

diff has to come out (spooled) so will replace it with another LSD have kicking around.

3/14 pieces of fibreglass body kit now repaired.

new skill unlocked

its time consuming, but I am not hating it.

the front bar brackets were well gone. Cut them out and will make up some new replacements.

Picked up another set of engine & rocker covers on the weekend.
Cant yet decide on colour to paint them / or powder coat them?

car is staying white, I’m tossing up
factory looking grey with silver manifold
all black gloss covers/Matt manifold
White covers/silver manifold

The other half is voting for black/green to match our Ute

You will obviously get more life out of powdercoat but if you just paint em it's cheaper and you can redo it at your leisure. If you only wanna do it once I'd powdercoat

we did get the daily ute powder coated so it would stand up to more abuse/neglect. but I am leaning towards paint for the VP as its a nicer finish.

Yeah true that, I was always taught you should be able to get your powdercoating back and give it an average donk with a hammer. If it cracks take it back cos like you said it's durable but not the flashest

Rooflining out today.
the staples are a nice hold. They were present when I bought the VP 6yrs ago and have done pretty well actually.

I can’t justify $600 for material alone to get NOS on this build.
If I can’t salvage the old stuff (which isint ideal) then I might have to consider another colour.

I am pretty against another colour but other half is telling me I am left with little choice.
Charcoal or grey roof with blue sunvisors and Jesus handles will look odd IMO. And recovering sunvisors is possible but then I will have to delete handles and paint the interior light?

Can you get a vinyl in a similar colour ?

EDIT: When I needed to replace the lining in my VS I couldn't find cloth in the right colour so got some vinyl from Spotlight which was a near on perfect match for the visors and plastics.
