I’ve replaced the tie rod ends, caster arms, lower control rods, and sway bar bushes. Still getting a knock and clank from the front every now and then. Anyone any idea? More apparent when reversing and on full lock either left or right. Feels like the wheels are fighting against the steering and jumping a little sideways. Totally out of ideas now. Anyone had anything similar? It’s an 08 Omega btw.

Have a look at your engine mounts, strut top bushes and the 6 bolts that hold the front end to the chassis. Those front end bolts need to be super tight or you will get clunks going over bumps.

Also check:

- Steering rack for play and the actual mounts on the rack

- Sway bay link pins

- inner rack ends .

Hey mate, maybe ball joints if you haven’t replaced them with the lower control arms? +1 for sway bar link pins and struts/strut tops. Good luck

By front end do you mean the section which holds the bumper, lights and radiator?

No, they bolt the engine cradle ( k frame ) to the front chassis. They are big bolts, from memory 22 and 24mm.
