Wondering how much movement is to much in lower control arm bushes. Have started to get the dreaded suspension squeak when reversing out of the driveway so I stuck my head in there when she was reversing out today. Couldn't hear anything but I could see movement in the bush where the radius rod joins in. Is this normal?
I couldn't see any obvious buggered bushes.

How many Ks has the car done and what sort of life has it had?
250-350,000 Ks will see a noticeable improvement when replacing bushings.

Replacement control arms is easiest. ~$200 a pair from various eBay sellers, and that's with new ball joints too.
Castor bushes are worth doing too and will make the biggest improvement for another $100, plus you'll need an alignment.

Get under there and check everything's tight would be the first step.
I had a clunk that I thought was a ball joint. It was a loose lower control arm pivot bolt. :)
