i need to replace my front pads and rotors and have been trying for about an hour to get the old rotors off .There is a bit of rust around the hub where the rotor sits I sprayed them with CRC and let them sit for a while .Then gave them a bit of a tap but they won't move . Is there some sort of puller you can buy or something ¿ Does anyone have any suggestions
    Cheers Dayvo

block of wood on inside of rotor and smack the crap outta it. turn every so often to avoid the rotor binding on one side. caution: they hurt when you hit yourself in the goolies.....

Remember not to go too stupid, or you may cause a little bit of damage to the wheel bearings, with a bigger hammer anyway :)

    I know I would ! :)

The cross drill looks good, but for braking purpose, just get the slotted ones. Cross drilling holes means there is less surface area (or contact area) on the rotor in contact with the pads.

^^^ plus they have higher risk of cracking due to heat

I haven't got them off yet . It will be a Sunday job when the wife is at work, you know peace and quiet . I just had a look at the attachment in your previous post , Do you hit the disc from behind where the arrows are or hit it from on top ?

Definitely from behind. You'll have to reach in and give it a few good whacks.

I'd feel uncomfortable using anything other than a rubber mallet. But if you're chucking the old ones away, you can afford to hit it a bit harder, just don't go too nuts.

Go nuts with the WD40 the day before and make sure there's nothing securing the rotors at all.

edit: Easier with the fronts because you don't have the handbrake shoes there.
