front speakers have stopped working

Hey guys so a few weeks ago I installed new speakers in the front and rear doors of my vz wagon which worked just fine but a couple days back the front two started sounding a bit crackly so I thought I'd best re-wire them. So far I've redone only from the speakers to the crossovers (Bypassing the door plug connections) and it was working perfectly yesterday and on my way to work this morning but on the way home they had bugger all sound coming from them, the rear two still work just fine but I can't figure out why the front two won't work. Any ideas?

(sony speakers, alpine crossover and nakamichi head unit)
I've checked the fade on the head unit and it's fine
