Just been reading the new issue of SC and read about Holden thinking about changing to Front Wheel Drive with the new commodores in 2015. personally i think it would be rubbish, tell me what you guys reckon of the change and/or if it will happen.
One thing thats for certain is that if the Commodore was to become FWD, that would be the end of their export market...there are plenty of other places in the world, even within GM where you can get a decent FWD car...not so easy to get a decent RWD car. And considering that Holden makes most of their money off exports, I can't see them giving that up easily. Also, if the Commodore was to become FWD, that would pretty much be the end of the Commodore ute - FWD is **** for utes. (if you need an example, have a look at the Proton Jumbuck :rofl
the jumbuck was **** no matter what, just as long as you dont make fun of the mightyboy, where sweet. lol
The Suburu Brumby on the other hand. Bring them back! They're fantastic as a proper work ute on a farm.
Speaking of the mighty boy, they go like a cut cat when you shoehorn an ls2 into them. Angriest little ####er ever, lol. Saw one at the Coot-tha classic hillclimb a coupla years ago.
The Commodore will reside on it's current platform (with updates along the way) for the next decade according to the latest gm gossip. Reaper
Thats a long time, and personally i don't think its good enough to go that long, anyhow i guess it means there will be lots of spares around to upgrade the VE by the end of the series.
