OTHER INFO:
Got this VK to use as a donor car to convert a 6cyl to a V8, but have now decided to get rid of it as we just bought another toy that needs our attention more then this wagon.
It's an original VK wagon 308 trimatic, BUT, at some stage the 308 was replaced with a 253 (253 engine number is on the rego so it's already been changed at motor reg). Runs good and drives ok, needs a bit of TLC. It was used as a daily b4 we got it. Also has extractors and a hotdog under the bum.
Body itself isn't to bad, worst part is probably the bumpers as they've been painted white, but paint is coming off. A stocko grill would improve the looks a fair bit IMO lol. Overall paint condition is fairly poor I think. It's all one colour, but just a few scratches and sun damage. Might polish up ok. Radiator support has seen better days, but nothing serious. Really it's a tad on the rough side, but definitely seen ALOT worse. Wouldn't take much work to get it lookin real nice.
Interior isn't to bad. Mainly just needs a clean up and it should look fine. Indicator stalk is broken. Passenger external door lock is broken. Driver side front door has trouble opening from the outside.
Running gear seems pretty good. Drives ok, doesn't go to bad for a 253. Trimatic shifts hard, diff is a 10 bolt with disc rear end.
After $1200, pickup from Port Pirie. It just ran out of rego, so either trailer it home, or register it when ya buy it and drive it home. For the cost of trailer hire and fuel we can trailer it to the Northern Suburbs, but definitely recommend having a look b4 ya buy it.
*sold with 4 random wheels as the current wheels don't belong to me.
Converting a 6cyl to V8 requires the motor (obviously lol), trans, tailshaft, diff, rear disc brake setup, exhaust, radiator, throttle cable, accelerator pedal, wiring harness, plus all the boltons. Save money and buy a complete running V8 car with all the bits you need! Or just spend a day or 2 cleaning her up and drive it!
