The fella's with less than 15L/100km do you have hats on your rear parcel shelf?

I am baffled how you can get it that low, I have tried and tried but just can't get it that low.

Don't forget Daz, you have the blown 6, they run rich to start with, a N/A v6 you would see under the 15L easily. Around town I'm sitting on 12L/100k bit of spirited driving, usually sitting on 10.5l, havent been on freeway much or for a long period, but so far I had 8.9l..Also you only do 7k's to and back...hmmm I'd be thinking of getting a bike mate, that short of a trip is seriously doning something to your engine, 7k's wouldn't even bring it to full op temp.

If my trip computer is to believed (it seems to be fairly accurate) I get an average of 12.5L/100km with an even spread of highway and city driving.

Trip computers are easily and largely thrown out of whack with different wheel diameters (bigger/smaller rims, higher/lower profile tyres, etc), so the accuracy of them is always debatable

I have logged every tank of fuel since new and after 3.5 years it is almost exactly 12l/100km. The worst has been around 15 (city) and best around 8 (highway full tank).

Yesterday I brought the family for a drive to the Zig Zag railway in the Blue Mountains (around 300km round trip) and it gave me 8.4l/100km.

To add to my previous post. I drive about 120km per day. 30 km city driving, 30km highway to work and then back again. I reset the trip computer before leaving and then when I hit the highway and then the same on the way home. In the city I got 15.7L/100km and on the highway 8.8L/100km. Completely stock car.

I've also noticed that it has dropped since the weather has started getting cooler in the mornings.

i have the performance mods in my vy.

i do mostly highway driving and i get about 9.2-9.8 at 110 km

you get alot better economy at 100 km than 110 km

    at 100 km i get about 8.7-8.9

city driving i get about 11-12

by the looks of everyone elses figures it doesn't look like having the performance mods affect the fuel economy at all :D

Freeway lowest ive had was 7.7, average is about 8, city is currently 10.5-11

    Fuel economy

My VY Ute V6 gets about 10.2 l/100km.

My XR6 (Herrod modified) gets about 11.0 l/100km.

The two cars are virtually the same age and have done nearly the same kms.

with my Average Guage It always displays an odd number. I.E. Always displays a 1 after each calculation Instead of rounding it off.

    eg:
    9.91 L/100km Instead of 9.90 L / 100Km
    10.21 L /100km Instead of 10.20 L / 100Km
    8.81 L / 100km Instead of 8.80 L / 100Km

    anyone else have this problem????

I have a Crewman Cross 6 the computer tells me lies, it tells me 14.6l/100km but I have just managed my best economy to date & it is 68l/400km that is 17l/100km my previous calculation gave me 18.8l/100kms.
This thing drinks fuel life a V8 has less pick up than a VS 3.8l although it does move once it gets past 4500rpm but that seems to take forever to get to. I want more low end torque even at the sacrafice of top end kw's. The old 3.8l motor is far better. Any ideas anyone for more low torque & better fuel economy. Other than stick a V8 in this thing at least I would have power with this outrageous economy.

got a VY ute, 2.5" exhaust and yet to put extractors, get about 10L on freeways and highways, around 11 driving to work.
when i first got exhaust the noise was too much to ignore, was up around 17L

12.5L/100k's usually while driving around downtown Brisbane

Had it as low as 7.9 while on a trip to the Sunshine Coast once. I was happy!

    fuel cons

lpg is an option, more litres less cost, my car (VY11 V6 ) has done 30,000 k's since last sept, and it has paid for the conversion, A GENUINE Holden system.
    11.5 TO 14 L/100K AROUND TOWN
