Well one night i tried to start the car and it wouldn't start even though it said it had 55 kms of fuel in it but refused to start.

So I called the NRMA and he said he thinks its out of fuel even though what the fuel gauge said. So he put $15 worth of fuel in it and it start eventually.

I know the vz commodore has a fuel gauge issue but i thought is says its out of fuel when its not, not it has fuel when it has none?

Would someone be able to shed some light on this issue.

I have already read posts and websites about the fuel gauge fault but haven't seen this issue anywhere.

thanks in advance

Funny you should bring this up. I had the same problem in a VZ I was driving today. When I got into it, the gauge was on 1/4 and had 140kms to empty. Stopped at a set of lights and the beeper went off and the gauge read empty and it was only 10kms until empty, then it went up to 40kms. I think it may have something to do with the pick up in the tank.

my fuel gauge on my VZ wagon is all up the sh$t too. It read "38kms to empty" the other day when I started it, and then 1km down the road it went to "2kms to empty". Pulled into a gas station and the bloody thing goes up again to like 16 or so, grrrr!
I haven't had it the other way round tho Linken Park

How much is it to get the tech 2 update put on? I'm getting the same problem, ****s me to tears when I'm panicing on the highway cos I have 20 km to go, my fuel guage tells me I have 6 km left and when I pull into the driveway I have 50 km left!

if you push hard enough you could get it free of charge as it would be classed as a warrenty item,

if they dont, they shouldnt charge any more than $44
