Hey guys i just put $20 petrol in got round 18L and i noticed the fuel guage barely moved, now when i first got the car it used to go almost half wayish on $20, also the fuel guage has become very sticky over the period of time ive had it, now i have to hit/tap the cluster screen for it to move?? Just wondering if u guys think that the guage is correct for around $20 petty.

common problem with commodores, there will be a dry solder joint on the back of the dash cluster for the fuel gauge. this is very common. my VN has it, the missus VS also. my VN shows it's empty when there is still 15-20lts left and i gotta give the holden handshake (tap the dash) sometimes to get tthe guage to read anything

yeah, i fair bash mine sometimes to get it to read something. i get around the fuel runnign out problem by the fact that if i fill it up and do a lot of open road/highway traveling i get about 480-500km from a tank of gas, if it's only stop/start, short trips etc i fill it up before 400km etc

Also petrol prices are different now..

$20 of petrol now at say 119 cents per litre is different to $20 petrol a while back at $1 a litre.

Considering its like $70 or more to fill a tank now depending on how low you run it.

yea i got around 18L for my $20, but i still thought my guage would read higher then that surely. I mean when i used to put around 20L in it would ALMOST be near half way, if i put $50 in i get a full tank.

you'll need to pull the cluster out and resolder the dry joint. ifyour goingto change to a level3 cluster maybe just put up with it for now etc
