Glad you got it done ok then, Yeah its a prick of a little job but hopefully you wont have to do it for another 100k's. Tank will look good, you went to more trouble then i would have.

Thats fuel pump when pressure drops suddenly , if fuel pressure drops slowly its either fuel pressure regulator or fuel injectors ! If it is regulator pulling off the vaccum hose a normal regulator will jump up in pressure and hold that pressure , also regulator ; test vaccum line is working feel for suction and also check for leaks , if the regulator is okay and you ate getting a slow pressure release then your O- rings on your injectors are leaking . In your case the issue with huge pressure drops is fuel pump
