Yeah, it's crap. I wouldn't care about the tax on fuel, if it went to roads, but the state of roads in my area is kindly described as "challenging to navigate". At the end of the day, Fuel prices are getting stupid and clearly over the next decade or so will continue, so I'm swapping to LPG.
I wouldn't bother going to LPG. It's already at 80 cents per Litre, and the more people who switch to LPG, the more demand there will be on supplies, the higher the price will go. In 5 years time when everyone is driving hybrids, LPG's and Diesel's, I will still be running around on 98, and we will see who is smart then.
i always LOL at the guys out in the country who complain about their roads. you cant have the country lifestyle with all the city perks, if you want good roads move to... oh wait... move to germany
it took them 7 goes to fix a pothole in my street. each time they put it down it rained and washed it out the next day. i pretty much live out in the country and i can say i much prefer driving on roads with nobody on them, or everyone actually doing 100 in a 100 zone. there is no way i would want it any different. a Fuel Tax wont stop me from driving. but hopefully it will it will get some morons off the roads if they cannot afford it. and i can bet my last dollar it wont fix up the roads anyway.
I consider roads in my town training for rally driving EDIT: Rain this arvo has ruined them more, big trucks vs tiny town = hilarity watching tiny little cars dodge potholes bigger than them.
Don't know what that link was intended to show, but if it came out of Julia Gillards mouth you know its a bunch of lies, and all its really intended to do is cover up the Huge hole in the budget she created by having no financial clue whatsoever.
