My next job for the car on priority is to fix/replace the fuel pump on my VT.
Apparently its a big job? Is there a way to do it in your own driveway? Or is it pretty much a take it down to the shop kind of deal? What kind of prices do you reckon I'll be looking at to have it done?

Easy DIY.

Drop the tank out, It's located on the top side of the tank.
Be sure to use 99% of fuel before you start the job.. Otherwise it will weigh quiet a bit.

the fuel tank has to come out... i will need to do mine too at some stage. I converted to L67 and the stock VT pump wont last much longer i guess lol.

A mechanic will charge around $400 including parts.

You dont really need to take the whole tank off you will just need to drop it from one side.. Cause I've done mine myself and its the same as a VR VS tank !!!! and i got my fuel pump from ebay for $50 and it works like a dream no problems yet lol... But yea you can do it yourself cause its not that hard to do and doesn't take that long ether.. Maybe 1 hour 20mins...

With Holden's they are not hard to work on at all they are quite easy to work on... I had to also had to change the power steering pump and the water pump in my car... And the water pump took me 45mins to do and the power steering pump took about nearly an hour.... I got the water pump from Super Cheap Auto for $75 and the power steering pump got that from Bersons for $245... Plus i had to change the Link kits !! also the clusters... I thought all that was going to be a mayjor job it was very easy.... Saying that cause I'm a female working on my car is an awesome thing i love doing and its not hard at all....

Just make sure you dont bump/bend the float as you will get a false reading .I use stands and a trolley jack to lower and raise the tank .

youd have to raise the car pretty high though, the tank is pretty big isnt it?
any particular order of disconnecting things?
