June 20th I was on my way to my father's funeral when some bi*** ran into the back of my VX. She apologized over and over again. To make a long story short...

I found that the rear bumper was cracked and the flap for the tow hook could not be snapped back into place. The depression for the spare tire was dented and the 'bent' metal came into contact with the fuel tank. The rear bumper sagged about 7cm and this made my car really ugly.

anyway, one night after getting the groceries my car could start up. checked everything. Fuses, plugs, cables, battery, starter etc. but found the fuel pump unable to deliver any fuel to the engine. The engine was turing over but it just didnt fire up. Had my VX towed over to the mechanic and he suspects that the rear impact from the collision may have jolted the fuel pump, torn out a sensor or anything. But he needed to take a look into the fuel tank, which may have developed a hairline fracture. So till then, I'm out of a car till the new fuel tank and fuel pump gets reinstalled.

When I was in Adelaide last march, the dealer said VX fuel pumps should last the lifetime of the car. But i dono if this is true for my car. Had her for almost a year now.

trust you to believe a salesman pitch...

no things can go wrong or eventually fail over time...much like hair loss.
