I have a fuel stench coming from the inside of the car when I get in which I have noticed come about approx 1 week ago. When I open the boot, the stench is 100x worse.

I'm thinking fuel pump related, but no probs with idle and acceleration. I have noticed an increase in fuel consumption over the last month.
    Probably related to that.

Anyone have any ideas whatt I might be In store for? Need this fixed ASAP as its dangerous.

This is unlikely but it's worth a look.Just check that the fuel cap has turned till you feel a few extra clicks. It won't do any harm but if it hasn't sealed enough the fuelly smell will go into the car.

Maybe check the charcoal cannister as well. Created heaps of petrol fumes in my Ute cabin after filling up. Unsure of the location on the vy though. May as well flush it anyway

I just suggested under carpet because you mention that it is 10x stronger in the boot.

I don't see how the smell is entering the cabin tho

Just if anyone runs into this problem in the future.. I just got back from the mechanics.. he said I have an engine oil leak, a coolant leak but no fuel leak.

Suggested to get a replacement fuel cap, so will try and get a brand new one from Holden. Also said don't go aftermarket because they don't seal as good as the genuine ones.

    Will try this and advise.
