I have noticed that when the tank gets to about a 1/4 or lower the car will surge a little when accelerating. I have done some searching of the forum and there are a few answers I have found. 1} Fuel pump may need replacing. This was replaced when the tank was installed. 2) The return line has dislodged from the bottom of the tank. When I replaced the pump in this car it was fine and checked out ok but may need another look. 3) The swirl pot has come away from the tank or dislodged. I checked this when I replaced the pump as I knew about this issue. Plus most of the time this is the issue only when turning from what I have found in my search. 4) May need to install a surge tank. Not a big issue and probably the easiest fix. Any suggestions on this. I have a Walbro 255 in the tank which will feed the surge tank, any suggestion on external pump? Bosch 044 come to mind but might see what Walbro has to offer. I will also find a surge tank that is easy to hide or see about getting a custom one done. Find a spot, make a template and get it built. Any help or other suggestions would be great.
The issue is the swirl pot. Mine wouldn't even run below half a tank and the return line feeding the swirl pot looked fine. I had to replace the tank.
Half and below is fine though. It's when at 1/4 it starts and it's very violent only just noticeable. Maybe a new tank is needed then. I bought this one to replace my 63ltr too.
