Hi all, Long time reader and follower first time really getting involved. I just purchased a VY SS ute black M6 exhaust and extractors, future mods OTR and maffless tune. Reason for my post: I filled the ute up until bowser click stopped and emptied a bottle of nulon octane booster in as well, when I got in the ute and reset the odometer I saw the distance to empty was 310 kms. I know it balances out after driving taking an average projection on the way the ute is driven (right foot) but this number 310 km seems small. I know the tanks 65-70 ltrs but can anyone shed light on the figures they get after filling the tank and what their distance to empty says? Thanks D Ps. Love the ute and the LS1 is awesome!!!
My H/C LS2 avg's 23L/100k around the city which would be about what your distance to empty is around. I don't use the distance to empty, will check it next time a fill up.
The DTE depends on recent history. I was stuck in a traffic jam behind a major accident on Saturday evening. As I sat there crawling along for 40 minutes, my DTE dropped to as low as 150km. Once past the accident, it had increased to 640 km by the time I had driven the 30+ freeway km to home. As an extreme example, I once drove from Lithgow to Penrith, with the final half hour being a descent from the top of Kurrajong Heights down to the lowlands. When I filled up at Penrith again, my DTE showed 2,220. Reasonable interpretation of the DTE requires consideration of the past 30 mins history and a good guess of what lies ahead.
Thanks for the info guys, Update DTE said I had 55 Kms left gauge said 1/4 full so I filled up only took 45 littes though. Trip had 337 km Will keep an eye on things as it's a new car to me I'm still finding out its quirks. Cheers
So do I I wouldn't take any notice of DTE.. Mine isn't accurate either... Along with the Ave Fuel Economy readout... Mine uses less than what it shows
