gday guys, im considering buying a vt commodore for my 1st car. I'm just abit worried about it guzzling fuel being a 3.8L. How many km's are you getting out of your tanks "generally"? thanks, Simon
My Mum's old VT Ecotec used to get around 11-12 L/100Km around town and 8-9 L/100km when highway driving, she used to baby the car around though.
ok thanks mate, iv also though about putting one of GAS, I will want to mod it abit with an exhaust system, cold air intake K and N air filter, performance chip and some other bits and pecies. Do you recon that GAS will let the engine run ok will these mods or should I just stick with petrol?
The gas will run fine with those mods as long as you have the gas tuned for them. Im not a fan of gas though, I have had too many problems with the system on my car.
I love gas personally, I have a VX and have not had 1 drama with it. And around 400kms out of 1/2 a tank, Awesome
Our XU6 is sitting on 13.9km per 100, but it recently had it's battery changed and everything was reset, so it's still trying to even itself it out. So I'd say an N/A Ecotec would used a bit less than that.
Hey Mate I can get about 550 - 600km a tank if i drive noramlly in my VY manual, and i can get about 700 - 800 if i do country k's only, with cruise control on sitting at about 100 - 110km/h, cant go wrong with that....
i just did a hwy trip with town driving, approx 60% hwy, 40% town got a smidge under 600km and used 54 littres so around about 9L/100km, quite impressed thats in a vz wagon with an alloytec engine tho
i had a VT1 wagon tht did eat fuel but it had better fuel consumption than my old 98 2.2L toyota camry wagon
