My 96 Statesman gets 1050km's out of a tank. thats all hwy driving.
Calculates too 7.6litres per 100km's (cruise set on 110km/h).

Remember thou that statesmans do have a 80L tank.

Around town i can give it **** and still get over 500km's to a tank.
(thats driving the way i do :D )

Car is serviced every 5,000km's. Tyres checked every week.
K&N air filter with opened up airbox.

    All Helps. :)

When running gas your supposed to put a tank of petrol though every 2 weeks? (anyone who is exactly sure please correct me) I wouldnt be suprised if something is blocked, a fuel line to one cylinder or something along those lines. that fuel consumption isnt too bad, depends what sort of driving your doing.

....I got a 95 VS, the best I EVER got was nearly all highway cycle, I pulled out 533km to the tank, but I normally get 350/380 mostly city, but I've done about 420 in the past few weeks, with 300km of that highway cycle (to uni and back)

What could I replace/fix to get better milage? I don't have any breathing mods except I put a 2.5" exhaust on it, that's it.

    I've done 203,000km's.

    Not so bad

I was alarmed when I bought my VS getting about 15L/100km. Its well maintained. Full books and recon engine, rebuilt trans, I have been over it with a fine tooth comb (thermostat, o2 sensors, plugs, leads, etc) since buying but still only get around 15L/100 all city driving. On the highway I get 9L/10km with cruise control.

This article made me feel alot better.

Does type of fuel make a difference?

Hey Guys.. my VS Exec S2 normally gets only 400K a tank to my annoyance.

I noticed that is only with Caltex and Shell fuel (premium at those places does not make much difference).
But when I filled up with Premium fuel at Mobile, suddenly I was getting 500K a tank, which is a 25% increase!

Do any of you guys notice if the fuel itself makes a difference?
(I can't comment on BP have not tried them for a while)

I get unleaded from Caltex at Heathcote, it's always cheaper there. I filled up at 98.9 in april... APRIL. I was on my way to my girlfriends's mum's and step dads for the weekend, I'm south sydney, and I was driving out to Richmond/Windsor, it was night (around 10:30pm when I left), and so there was **** all traffic, I headed up Alfords Point Rd, to to Silverwater Rd, petrol was all at 114.9, 116.8 etc, I got it pretty cheap.

I went back up there last weekend, I filled up full tank at Cherrybrook (near Castle Hill), drove to Richmond, drove around there, and back to cherrybrook, then back to my place (Engadine), then to uni and back, a total of 240km, and I filled up at 97.9 @Heathcote again, 24 liters full tank :D:D:D

I don't know what that is in lites/100kms. But not much

I have just retruned from going to QLD for the long weekend.

From Carindale (Brisbane) to Rosehill (Sydney) in 10 hours 39 minutes driving time for 69.58 litres of fuel. Average speed of 87 KPH.

These figures are from my level 3 trip computer, which has been calibrated.

Worked out at 7.5L/100Km. Went 760 Km without refuelling.
