VR Statesman sII 5ltr 1995 & VE SS V8 Commodore
Have a VR 5ltr 1995 Statesman can you put 98 premium in it or should you put 95 in as a older model? Reason asking is a new fuel filter put in and filled her with 98prem and it now cuts out when driving could this be the problem?

I ran 98 in my old 5 litre occassionally.....never had any issues.

Thanks, just looking at all reasons before taking to mechanics also checked wires as suggested in post missfire theres no corrosion

Make sure you installed the filter the correct way around. There is usually an arrow on the filter that shows the fuel flow direction, ie. from the tank to the front of the car.

Are the fuel filter connections OK. Seems coincidental that it began after the new filter.
I thought the same ive bought a new fuel pump today but will be checking all connections etc before i remove the tank.

I had a quick look yesterday and arrow is in right direction will be checking that all connections are correct before i drop the tank and put in a new pump hopefully i dont need to fml a big job but yeah wish me luck

You don't need to remove the tank to replace the fuel pump. Refer to the attached instructions from the Holden VR/VS Service manuals:
