I got an error on my dash today, it came up with fuel gauge fault contact retailer and I noticed the gauge had fallen and was coming back up towards full. It did it a few times but has now stopped.
Question is do the fuel gauges simply connect to the variable resistance of the sender unit or does it go through the BCM or something else in the dash first.
Does anyone know the resistance outputs of the sender unit for full, half and empty and can the gauge be tested by connecting resistors to the wire from the sender unit then to ground?
