Does anybody know the values of the fusible links in 6cyl VL Commodore?
Is it ok to replace these with a fuse of correct rating?
Probably, better of sticking to the fusible links, the small fuses would start to melt and break down sooner with higher loads, ie say 60Amps for the alt etc.
Check a wiring diagram for correct fusible link rating, these should be mounted close to the battery to provide protection over the whole circuit.
You can probably modify it to use the later type fusible links that plug in, if you got the cable type, see what colour they are and buy the same colour as the colour is the ratered amperage, not to hard to make.
Sorry cant give you specific values on your VL, just make sure you use them as this could be the difference between your car burning down or not.
