Put in a couple of trees into the raised garden on Sunday... 3 on the right are flowering cherry trees.. one on the very left is a weeping cherry.. should look good once all the tops fill in to each other..

Anyone here used composite decking? I'll take pics when I get home so you know what I'm talking about, but I need to work out some way of building a small fence on a brick retaining wall. Basically I'm leveling a section out the back and it needs some sort of safety fence for the young ones just in case they decide to try and fly. I've found the style I like and it's the same price as merbau without the maintenance.

is that the squares...

I would either A: when you put your top layer of bricks in concrete some bolts in to bolt timber down to.. or B: Dynabolt the wood to the concrete once dry..

Is the fence just a straight fence or going around a corner, as straight will be quite flimsy and will need to be tied to something else

This stuff:

It'll be going on top of this brick wall. I was thinking about dynabolting 5 130mm shoes and putting some short (600mm high) square posts in and attaching the decking to the face.

The eventual plan is to build a sleeper retaining wall off the end of the bricks running back to the back fence and fill the whole lot in and put either turf or fake grass up the top. Then the lower left side will be leveled down and the garden shed will go there on a slab. Where the garden shed is now will be a seating area and on the front right side of the brick retaining wall I'll build another screen using the same materials and method of the smaller safety wall.

I hope I've explained it good enough haha

ya mum!
Suggestion: Have you thought about simply getting rid of the brick wall, and grading the ground into a nice, natural looking slope down to a low flat area for tables/chairs etc. Leaving the shed part the way it is.

And with some nice turf and garden bed borders?
