well im not sure with the factory lpg. but with mone. it has been converted to gas and it only shows the distance to empty for petrol but shows the real time lpg usage

or have you got a seprate guage else where

Mine has a seperate gauge where the fog light switch would go on a ss.

basically its just a switch with 4 led's to tell you the level of gas in the tank.

no problems man. if there is anything else you want to know feel free to ask.

i think you may find it a bit harder to find another factory lpg car as at the time they were being made. petrol was only like 80 cents a litre so there was no real want for it. but i will keep my eyes out for you.

yer my old man had his vb on gas back in 1992 and the price for gas was about 11cents a ltr
    alot cheaper then now

nah not really, but i can tommorow if you want. just looks like every other tank
donut tanks? like wheel shaped to fit in the spare wheel well, i have no idea but it would be illegal as you wont have a spare

the clubbie had a lvl 3 cluster, gas and petrol ran off the stock gauge and when i switched to gas the DTE adjusted to what i had left in the gas tank.

Your DTE will still work if you get a guage sender to suit the VS (for the LPG tank) and have it wired up so when using gas the gas level will be shown on the petrol gauge.
I do this with all the commodores I convert (with standard system)

cheers for that Jason, some good news there:thumbsup:
well this is a factory gas system and it uses the petrol guage to show the amount of fuel, so in theroy it should work
it more so will it work, as im upgrading from a lvl 1 cluster to lvl 3 i wasnt to sure if it was going to work on DTE. the car has never had the DTE function and i didnt know if the car would calculate using the lpg fuel level sensor

but apparnelty JD's clubbie did work

Yes You can get a Donut Tank That will fit in your spare wheel well. but then obviously you wont be carrying a spare or will have it floating around in the boot. many people use the donut tank in station wagons as the spare on them goes under the false floor.

The Laws On spare Wheels state.

If you have a spare tyre in the car it must have road worthy tread.but

you do not have to carry a spare tyre.
