there is a lot of mixed thoughts on this subject,

one, the lpg system is fitted after the vehicle leaves the factory, fitted at HSVi
two, a few people on this forum have gone to parts and had them look up different heads or valve seats without luck

i believe the alloytec lpg is the same as the petrol engine, and at the time of the vz launch holden had not done alot of lpg testing for reliability and durablilty with lpg, hence the warnings not to use it

Remember that when the Alloytec engine was released back in 2004, injected gas systems were rare/unavailable. Holden were anticipating problems with these engines and mixer-based LPG systems and were therefore protecting themselves by refusing to back engines with aftermarket gas systems. The situation has changed, however, and SVI (and increasingly, LI) systems are routinely installed by most gas fitters, eliminating most of the problems associated with the earlier non-injected systems.

LPG all the way for power and economy!!
