Hiya everyone,
Unsure where exactly to post this one, so figured in "General" should be ok lol. Please let me know if i'm in the wrong section.
I bought a 1981 VC Commodore quite a few years ago, have had her now for about 13yrs (Jesus i feel old). This year is my 4th year doing Gazzanats in her and i love it.
She is a 1981 VC Commodore with a VK body on her (done by previous owner). I bought the car from NSW and had her shipped over to WA. She was street registered for quite a few years, then she was deregistered due to too many cars at the time.
My daughter was also super stoked as she was also a Media official there and loved every single minute of it.
Works even better when someone who knows what they are doing works on your car and changes the exhaust to make it all gel together beautifully, and sound mean and nasty like she should. I have never been happier or prouder to drive this car. The way it was put together and engine installed before had a few people laughing and scratching their heads in wonder. I was rather embarrassed as this person was supposed to know what they were doing :/. They all knew who it was and laughed his name as i refused to say it.
Now the car runs and works better than it ever has and i'm super proud to be a part of this team and have these people around me.
Car ran mint during Qualifying and killed it in the finals. I even made it onto all the merchandise again for the 2nd time in 3yrs.
I got 1st Iron Maiden and 1st Best Chicks Skid, and found out i was only a couple of points away from being in the top 10!!! 1st time ever that's happened and i'm stoked. I'll be in there next year.
Gazzanats in my own personal opinion is one of the best events and shows ever to be made.
Bring on Summernats next year!!!
