Whats the best recommended Gearbox & diff fluid for a 6speed manual and LSD diff?
havent played with the car in ages and relised neaither fluids have been changed from factory

Have you checked your manual? Should give you recommended fluids/capacity for both.

Penrite recommends for a VT SS 5.7 Manual:-

Manual Transmission: 70-75W / 4.4L service capacity

Differential: 80W-140 / 1.7L service capacity

But really you can choose whatever oil you like, within reason that it is the correct weight or close to.

Just replaced my diff oil yesterday,Nulon 80w-140. Fully synthetic, and already has the additive in it.
No Complaints.

Thanks guys, come to think of it i rember reading ages ago from afew places that Transmax z is the best choice . Well ill grab what i can tomorrow thanks guys

Haha just changed mine today it was black ! And ####ed was only like 500 ml of oil in diff guessing it was never changed even when I had it and car feels alot better now

unless the gearbox has been leaking, Holden says it's a lifetime fluid. If you aren't having difficulties selecting gear at all then don't worry about changing the gearbox fluid. Diff on the other hand, go for it.

nothing is a lifetime fluid......It will break down at some point.

I'll be changing the fluid in mine soon to make it smoother

Am I correct in saying dexIII? Pretty sure that's what's stamped on the side of my gearbox :banghead:
