Gearbox problem ve ss Ute

Hi all hi have a problem with my 2010 Ute
The automatic gearbox is doing funny things I was going around a round about an had know drive took it to a gearboxs merchanic an he said there was cylinder in the gearbox that was the problem told me it was cheaper to get a new box instead of fixing the one in it now
Anyone got any advice as it’s going to cost a fair bit of money otherwise

mate i would try servicing it yourself, i have done my own for 20+ years, do some research, find how much oil to add when you remove the pan and filter ect, the filter service kits around $50 then add around $50-70 bucks for oil,
if it's low on oil it will not shift work correctly so it's worth a try
low oil level in a auto causes all sorts of problems
try servicing first , at least that way after that if it's still NQR you need a new auto
