gearbox question

am doing a little research.

will a vp manual gearbox go onot a vs v6 c'dore.

if so what sort of problems will we encounter
ie cpu need changing

car the box will come from is a vp v6 manual ute

going into a vs v6 auto sedan

I'm not sure but I don't think what you propose is possible (without heaps of work) as the VS with the Ecotec engine thru its CPU uses heaps of info from the auto trans - the manual VS models have a different CPU or ECU and I'd imagine the VS manual gearbox has electrical connections which feed into the CPU/ECU. Didn't the VS have a Getrag manual box? I must admit a manual would be great.

Series 2 VS have the Getrag you mean....
The Getrag has a VSS sensor coming out of it which i doubt would be compatible with a VP CPU.
Id imagine you need to get a VS manual CPU.
