So my gearbox is leaking from somewhere in the rear of it. I cant see exactly where because its a very slow leak but i'm not sure if its the seal around the drive shaft or one of the other seals in between the sections of the gearbox.

How hard is it to change either of these parts? Does the gearbox need to come out of the car and can these parts be obtained easily?

the rear extension housing gasket and the rear main seal are easy done with the gearbox still in. if its an auto the pan seal could be leaking, if it is do a service on it, the service kit comes with a new pan gasket

Are you getting the engine rear main seal confused with the gearbox seal?

Cause for the gearbox you can just disconnect the tail shaft and probably need to get the rear mount out of the way and then i dont see any problems changing the seals with it still in... gonna be exactly the same whether its in or out of the car
