Cheers mate!

I finally got some free time to do some more polishing. I've started with the roof seems as i never got to do it before, so it was super dry and rough. It honestly felt more like concrete than paint. None the less it came up pretty well!
Took me a good 4 hours just wet sanding it. Pic:

I must say im pretty happy with how its turned out, its not perfect but as is it looks fantastic from a metre away. I've only polished half the roof for now, so hopefully i will be back at it tomorrow.

Anyone know where I can find the Holden Lion badges? mine are pretty yuck and I'm not having much luck sourcing some new ones.

Wet sanding and polishing it going well, there is so much dry spray that it is taking forever though!

Anyway, all the top surfaces (bonnet, roof and boot) have been wet sanded and polished, I still have to do a finer polish and wax.

You can really see the difference between polished and unpolished here:

Yeah i know, Its quite clear that 2K is worlds ahead and that 1K would be a total failure in any commercial environment.
But for me, I legally sprayed it in my garage, had a respirator failure and didn't kill myself (although it felt like it!) and at the end of the day the car still looks 10x better than it did before!

"dat 1k" was meant to be like "dat ass". cause 1k cuts up like butter, looks like glass (just have to keep cutting it)... cars looks great man.

Photo time!

G'day!

Sorry its been so long to follow up with some decent photos, as always i got very busy with other things.

I've polished all the metal parts and waxed them, the painted plastic parts (mirrors and bumpers) are still off the gun.

I'm still chasing parts to get everything perfect, I suspect I'll be looking for a while, VP's seem to be quite rare in the ACT, the local wreckers haven't had one in the yard for months. So I'm still after a front lion badge, rear boot garnish, chrome window surrounds, "BERLINA" badge and probably a few other bits I've forgotten!

Anyway, I finally took some decent photos down at Lake Burley Griffin.

It's not perfect, but I am still very happy and proud with what I've achieved!

Cheers!
