Hey all!
Ive got a 86 VL NA berlina thats been sitting in my yard for about 3 years now. Ive finally decided i wanna put a little money into it and sell it off. It was running pristine before i left it..
Now im just after some help on things I should make sure i do before i start it, drain fuel, flush lines etc. If anyone could help me out with things to do or knows a guide on this a link would be very helpful.
I have used the search but couldnt find anything real useful
Cheers, Luke

I'd probably drop the oil and change the oil filter while you're at it, change the fuel filters, maybe run some injector cleaner in the fuel tank with some premium 98, depending on how full the tank was while it's been sitting there, might be good to syphon the fuel out

I guess if you want to do it the proper way then yeah flush your brake fluid & bleed em, do 2 oil changes (one with cheap oil, let it warm up, then change that oil for good oil), power steering should prob just need topped up, maybe a new battery.

When you start it, just let it idle, don't rev it or anything till' it's warm (mine usually warms up to the 3rd line on the temp gauge, or 80 degrees on my aftermarket gauge)

I would only fix/replace whats broken or what needs it for roadworthy. As you won't get much back from selling it. But each to their own I guess...

So I've got it running, and all seemed to be good. But then the temperature needle jumped to extreme high! I've put water in the radiator and its sitting at full level. Anyone know what may be going on?? Also I was pumping the clutch to get some proper feel back in it and then it just lost all pressure any help with what might cause that??
Cheers guys.

Did u bleed the cooling system properly? It's an alloy head and it can't have air bubbles or you will crack the head.
1 design flaw with the vl was the rad is lower than the head meaning u get air locks.

Try bleeding the system properly https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/cooling-system-drain-refill.118937 . I have never tried it using the overflow hose like the link says though, i usually just use a bottle that is higher then the manifold bolt. As far as the clutch it sounds like you ran out of fluid or your slave cylinder **** itself.
