I was just wondering how I get the shiny, reflective finish on parts of my car that I paint? I have recently painted my side mirrors so they match my car colour, but no matter how much clear coat I put on it, I couldn't get that same finish that the rest of my panels have. Is there something I missed? Is there a special type of clear coat I should use? I used K&N Clear Top Coat...

Thanks

you also need the clear to go on wet dont want dry paint might need to get close to the part you are painting then when dry sand with 1200-2000 wet and dry with warm soapy water and when its all dull with no shiny spots polish with car polish

sand back after final coat

Are you saying to sand back with 2000 grit and warm soapy water AFTER the final top coat of clear? and then polish?

+1, make sure you have a few coats of clear though,

give it a cut and polish after and it brings it up real shiny, and dont use anything less the 1200, 1500 or 2000 works best
