Reminds me of a Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S at the front, BMW M1 / 130 elsewhere.
Based on the Cadillac's Alpha platform it is literally a shoe-in for the 410hp twin turbo v-six, like Wheels mag covered a year ago.
Worthy of the Torana badge? http://www.leftlanenews.com/gm-hints-production-code-130r-could-be-in-the-works.html

Where does it say anything about a V6?

This thing will be a 4 cylinder (if it goes ahead).

...And the red one is hideous (silver one in your first link is much nicer)..

Front cover of Wheels magazine July last year, the fact it is a Cadillac platform and the V6 is slated for that, and in several reports in this thread

You're right, not now but a bit more likely than the TT36 design was on the Zeta (VE).

Mate I don't care what they call it, prefer not a rebirthing thing myself.
But there is definitely a spark of possibility at GM for two door Bimmer killer using this:

Twin turbo, direct injection, lightweight, VVT with scalable performance like nothing we've seen yet:

Not that conventional in design...

Would be no good, not enough idle torque.

Looking at the pics, that would be a nightmare to modify. Hard to tell, is it using a top mount cooler?

Yep, its definitely a top mount cooler.
Was mentioned a few times in articles I've come across.
