Good deal or not?

Hi guys, I am trying to make up my mind if this is a good deal or not. I can get a 3800 motor and transmission out of a VR, also two passenger doors in the same colour as my car and a few misc items like ash tray etc. All that for just over $500. The motor and transmission has done 180,000km and according to the guy selling it all runs fine etc. I am looking to rebuild the motor and hopefully making it turbo then beef up the transmission to handle it.

Does this sound any good? Any opinions would be great!

$500 sounds ok for all that if you were to bolt it straight in and use it.
however, since your planning on rebuilding the engine, why not get a worn out one for free instead (or for bugger all) since its getting a rebuild anyway.

I was told to try and get a low km motor so i don't have to do any machining to the block or boring etc and then i wouldn't need to get bigger pistons which i was told would save me a bit of money. Is this true?

i'd say its a pretty good deal the motor alone is worth that at the wreckers

250 - 300 max for a vn - vr buick from the wreckers. so add a few hundgie for the extras, you're cheering!
