Hi all I'm looking at buying my first car and I thought I would put this up with the cars I'm interested in buying so if you can chip in with advice on the car specific to each model it would help me with not having a repeat of the blue wagon any way here is the cars I'm interested in all will be an automatic transmission

1. Vs-vy berlina wagon with the ecotec

2. Subaru liberty wagon heritage spec

3. Toyota camry touring wagon

4. Mitsubishi Verada Wagon

5. Ford Fairmont Wagon (probably a later E serieshttp:/

I would tend to lean towards the Commodore Ecotec , easy to maintain , parts are still plentiful , and a good start point .
So I assume the Fairlane idea has gone out the window then .

Commodore, purely because there are heaps at the wreckers and easy/cheap to get parts for. Very easy to work on too.

Plus, rear wheel drive can be more funnerer :p

As an old VY owner I would look for good ones, or a very good Camry.

1. Vs-vy berlina wagon with the ecotec - Yeah I'd go for this as reasons said above.

2. Subaru liberty wagon heritage spec = Just remember it's not a wrx and it won't go or look like one.

3. Toyota camry touring wagon = If you want a A to B car and have no interest in cars other than transport.

4. Mitsubishi Verada Wagon = I was a Mitsi guy back in the day but stay away from this electrical nightmare. (Try lancer wagons if you must)

5. Ford Fairmont Wagon= It's a Ford and you will get no respect also refer to number 3 answer

That's my 5 cents that is all best of luck...

I'd lean towards the Commodore wagons. Perfect vehicles on which to learn a bit of spanner work, which you'll probably do on a semi-regular basis, but parts are cheap and everything's simple.

Non-turbo Subarus will suck the will to live right out of you with how pitifully slow they are. They handle nicely though.

A Camry is great for picking up your grandchildren and is very reliable.

I've never owned a Mitsi that didn't sound like a sewing machine.

My childrens' dislike of Fords due to Henry's support for the Nazis in WWII preclueds me from recommending them. Sorry.

Yeah the fairlane idea is out of the aim right now I just want to get a el luxo version of the cars above and then once I'm in my place and have a fair idea about things I will try to get a DC Ltd for the gangster factor
